Delivery speed

Express means three business days

Express is not a separate courier. It is one of the speeds you pick while you book, and it changes two things: when the job has to be finished by, and what it costs.

+45%

Express

Delivered within three business days.

A deadline somebody else set: a site that stops without the part, a customer who was promised this week.

Base rate

Standard

Delivered within five business days.

The ordinary case. Nothing is on fire and the load is not waiting on anyone.

8% off

Economy

Delivered within ten business days. Cheapest, because it travels with a load already going that way.

Stock moving to a shelf, not to a deadline. It rides with a load already going that way, so it is the cheapest of the three.

Commercial line only

The percentage is measured against what the same job costs at Standard, so there is no separate Express rate to look up. Price the job and both figures are on the screen.

Why the uplift differs

A parcel rides along. A load gives something up.

Express costs more on a commercial job than on a personal one, and the reason is what the vehicle does afterwards.

A parcel goes on a trip that was already happening. Getting it there sooner means putting it earlier in a sequence, which costs something but not much.

A commercial Express load is different. Holding a truck to a three-day window means it cannot wait for a return load, so it drives home empty. That empty leg is real diesel and a real day of somebody's time, and the uplift is what pays for it.

It is also why Economy is the cheapest thing on the commercial line. Ten business days is long enough for your goods to travel with a load already going that way.

Pick a speed on either line

The line you book on decides what you can send and which vehicles you see. The speed is a separate choice, made on the same screen.

Questions

Asked before you book

No. It is a speed you choose on the booking you are already making. The same drivers and the same vehicles carry an Express job and a Standard one, and so does the same tracking.

Within three business days. Standard is within five. Economy, which only the commercial line offers, is within ten.

A parcel rides along on a trip that was happening anyway. A commercial Express job gives up its backhaul, which means the vehicle comes home with nothing to carry, and that empty leg is what the uplift pays for.

It is a percentage on top of what the job costs at Standard, so the figure depends on the job. Price yours on the quote page and you will see the Standard and Express numbers side by side before you book anything.

Yes. Choose it on the booking and the uplift is on the quote before you confirm.

Choose the speed, see the price.

Both figures are on the quote before you commit to either.
